What Is SPL Token?

The standard token format on the Solana blockchain.

Definition

SPL, the Solana Program Library standard, is what a token looks like on Solana. It plays the same role ERC-20 does on Ethereum: a shared shape that every wallet and program already understands.

How it works

Transfers, approvals and balance lookups follow one interface. Anything that speaks SPL can handle any SPL token, including one deployed five minutes ago.

In Continuum

L/S tokens are ordinary SPL tokens with nothing special about them, which is the point. Jupiter, Kamino, Raydium and everything else on Solana treat them like any other token.
